Request license

Previous topic Next topic JavaScript is required for the print function

For license request the license type has to be selected first: Local Computer License OR Network Server License.

For booth license types the following has to be specified:

 - requested software Modules

 - name of your Company

 - Start date of the license

The Session Code and the Checksum are calculated automatically and ensure the singular usage of provided license information (similar to the TAN method for online banking). After activating a license (even if it was unsuccessful) or selecting a different license file location the session code is no longer valid.

The so-called Machine ID is calculated by CFturbo considering hardware and operating system information to link the license to the local computer or network server.

¢ Details of the 2 license types: see below

After input of all necessary information you can

 - use the Send E-mail button to prepare a message with the computer's default mail client (the mail will NOT be transmitted automatically!)

 OR

 - use the Copy to Clipboard button if you want to create the mail manually and paste the information (send the mail to sales@cfturbo.com)

You have to select the License directory first. The directory has to be a shared folder or a directory within a shared folder.

After selecting the directory the license file can be copied by CFturbo automatically, if there is no one present. The users is asked for confirmation in that case.

Please note:

All CFturbo users need read and write permissions for this directory.
The shared directory has to be attached to a physical computer. Directory structures with redundant servers (e.g. DFS - Distributed File System, Windows 2008 DNS GlobalNames Zone), SAMBA shares, filer or similar are not supported.
The shared directory can be addressed by the computer name (\\<computer name>) or its IP address (\\<IP address>). It's important to use the identic shared directory name when selecting a network license later.

It is NOT recommended to request the license using the same computer the share is located on. If the shared folder is located on the same machine where the license request is executed anyway:

You must not select the LOCAL directory name (e.g. "c:\<directory name>") because this is converted automatically to UNC-notation as a hidden ($) administrative shared folder (e.g. “\\<computer name>\c$\<directory name>”).

Rather select the public available shared directory name (e.g. “\\<computer name>\<directory name>”) in the dialog for selecting the directory by

a) selecting the shared directory in the “network neighborhood”

or
b) type it manually

Select the correct MAC address from the list if there’s more than one network interface on the server sharing this path.

If no MAC address is available:

Please check, that you are not using a DFS or SAMBA share. MAC address is detected using Microsoft NetBios. Please make sure that the MAC address of the server can be resolved using 'nbtstat -a <servername>' on the command line. Otherwise please contact your IT administrator.

Finally you have to specify the desired/ordered number of users that can use the software in parallel.
