Ü Stator | Main dimensions

 

The Main Dimensions menu item is used to define main dimensions of the stator.

 

 

 

General Shape

 

Here you can define the stator type initially. Currently the following types are available:

 

Using the button "Set default" you can set default properties for each stator type.

The following empirical correlations are used:

 

 

 

For the above marked parameters you can get default values resulting from approximation functions in dependence of specific speed nq or flow rate Q (see Approximation functions).

For this purpose some specific edit fields are used.

Blades

 

Here you can define if the stator should be vaned or unvaned.

For vaned stators you have to define the number of blades and the existence of splitter blades.

Via Unshrouded you can decide to design a shrouded or unshrouded stator. For unshrouded stator you have to define the tip clearance.

 

To support the selection of a suitable blade count a separate dialog can be used, which can be started by pressing the button right beside the edit field.

 

 

"Full Stator"

 

For a new design you can create a fully automated initial design of the impeller using default settings: see Full Stator

Right in the dialog some additional information are displayed.
